North Bay Christian Academy is an academic community that is Christ centered and committed to incorporating Biblical worldview into our curriculum. We believe in training and equipping the next generation to be relevant and impacting through our model of teaching and learning. Our multigenerational school offers students a learning environment that fosters their growth and development in all phase of life. Students are encouraged to grow academically, socially/emotionally, and spiritually. The teaching and learning model we recognize and practice is based in the Charlotte Mason philosophy of education, which strives to make learning interactive. We believe when children are taught to examine learning through fostered curiosity and exploration, they are given the freedom to create. Our school offers a unique student to teacher ratio, which allows each student's needs to be addressed. With this exclusive classroom dynamic, students are encouraged to develop emotionally and socially given the specific support base. Our high school is also unique in the way our classes are formatted. We believe in using the Socratic method to instruct students in the finer liberal arts. We believe the benefit of conducting classes that include all four secondary grades offers the students a unique learning opportunity. When students are asked to participate in classroom discussions with their instructors and peers, they are challenged to form opinions and support their general hypotheses.
The following is the foundation of beliefs upon which NBCA is based. They are also the key elements of Christianity that are taught in various ways through all grade levels. The substance of these statements is considered primary doctrine at NBCA. Secondary or any divisive issues are not presented as primary doctrine. While adhering without reservation to the teachings of the Bible, no attempt is made to influence student views of a denominational or sectarian nature.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of Christ, his virgin birth, his sinless life, his miracles, his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, his bodily resurrection, his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in his personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved to the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost to the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
